Maybelle Lee Mitchell, age 92, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016. She was born on April 19, 1924 in Tarboro, NC to the late Willard Nash and Lula Monroe Lee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Palmer “Bubba” Mitchell, Sr., her son, Edward Palmer “Lucky” Mitchell, Jr., her brother, Roland Lee, and her sister, Mattie Wagner.

Maybelle loved her family and really enjoyed flowers and crocheting.

She is survived by her children, Victor Randolph (Randy) Mitchell and his wife, Kathy of Roanoke Rapids, William Nash (Bill) Mitchell and his wife, Wanda of Chester, VA, Alan Lee Mitchell and his wife, Susan of Roanoke Rapids, Timothy Wayne Mitchell and his wife, Julie of Emporia, VA; her grandchildren, Michael Mitchell, Sr., Chris Mitchell, Johnathan Mitchell, Lisa Mitchell, Victor Mitchell, Shamron Mitchell, Jennifer M. Henderson, Josh Mitchell, Alan L. Mitchell, Jr., Zeb Mitchell, Brooke Mitchell; and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Randy Martin and Rev. Josh Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon, NC. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services from 7:00 until 8:30 PM and other times at 821 Raleigh Street, Roanoke Rapids.
